Tennis is Identity
Tennis doesn't end when you leave the court.
It shapes how you play, how you think, and how you handle the small battles this game brings every day.
Close Call is for people for whom tennis stays part of their identity even when the racket isn't in their hand.
Tennis brought us together.
We got to know each other early through tennis, first crossing paths at tournaments. Years later, one of us needed a coach and asked the other.
Player and coach eventually became friends.
What connected us was never just the result on the court. It was a shared way of experiencing this game: the good days, the bad matches, the constant second-guessing, and the feeling that keeps you coming back to the court anyway.
Tennis was the starting point of our friendship. Much later, it became the starting point for Close Call too.
We couldn't find it.
So we made it ourselves.
At a day rave in Berlin, one of us was wearing a tennis shirt he had been searching for for a long time.
Not performance wear. Not a classic tennis polo. Just a shirt that felt like streetwear and still clearly came from tennis.
We got talking about it and realized pretty quickly we had both been looking for the same thing.
Sports brands almost always tell the tennis story through performance. Streetwear brands occasionally pick up tennis for a print or a collection.
We were missing a brand where both come together.
A brand that understands tennis because it comes from the game itself, and makes clothing you want to wear even when there is no training and no match coming up.
That conversation eventually turned into a concrete idea.
That's how Close Call started.
Different Levels.
Same Battles.
Not everyone plays the same tennis.
Some play tournaments. Some play league matches. Some play once a week after work. Some have spent their whole life on the court, others have only just discovered the game.
The level is different. Many of the moments are the same.
The shot that suddenly stops working today. The match that felt already lost. The point you still replay in your head hours later. The frustration when nothing works. And the feeling when something finally works a little better than yesterday.
That culture is exactly what interests us.
Close Call does not come from a campaign about tennis. It comes from the game itself.
That's why tennis should never be just decoration for us.
The clothing works off the court. The identity behind it still comes from tennis.
From the Court.
For the Streets.
Close Call started with three shirts. It won't stop there.
We want to develop products that come from tennis without having to look like classic tennis clothing.
Products we want to wear ourselves: on the way to the court, after the match, and on the days when no tennis is played at all.
A good print alone isn't enough for us.
Our products are made in Europe. We pay attention to material, construction, and making sure the clothing feels as good as it looks.
And we want to keep developing Close Call together with the people who understand this game the way we do.
Different courts. Different levels. The same game.
From the court. For the streets.
